Wendigo

Wendigo (tiež známy ako Windigo, Windago, Witiko, Wihtikow a mnoho iných) je mýtická bytosť, ktorá sa objavuje v mytológií severoamerických indiánov. Najčastejšou príčinou premeny na Wendiga je ak sa osoba uchýlila ku kanibalizmu počas obdobia extrémneho hladu. Medzi indiánmi bol kanibalizmus, aj keď na záchranu svojho života, považovaný za neprijateľný, správna reakcia na hlad bola samovražda, alebo čakanie na smrť.
